About cadential.

cadential. is a music licensing platform for independent artists and the creators who use their music. It is run by its founder, Jack Harrington, from Victoria, Australia.

Why it exists

Jack comes from a media agency background. He saw a gap in music licensing: no simple way to license a real, commercially released song from the artist who made it, at a price you can see up front, with a written contract that names you.

The idea is a catalogue you browse the way you would a streaming app, where any song can be licensed for the project in front of you: a YouTube video, a podcast, a film or an ad.

How it works for artists

  • We cap our cut at 20%, so artists keep 80% of every licence fee.
  • Non-exclusive. Artists keep their rights and can keep releasing and licensing their music anywhere else.
  • Artist-reviewed prices. Each song is priced per use, and the artist reviews those prices before the song goes live.

Who you are dealing with

cadential. is operated by Jack Harrington as a sole trader in Victoria, Australia (ABN 78 833 817 685). Prices are in Australian dollars, and our terms are governed by the law of Victoria.
